If you want to make a revolutionary idea, start with simplicity. If you have an idea that will make others go "Oh, why didn't I think of that?" you know you are on the right way.

These guys made an interface without needing mouseclickery... and it works! And once you get the hang of it, you can see it could be really fast. I can imagine this is will be a prototype for holoscreen interfaces in the future.
